June 17th (Monday)

Stand-up Paddleboarding for Kids @ NC Aquarium at PKS | 9am – 11am

Designed especially for youth, they explore Bogue Sound on a stand up paddle board with an instructor to guide. During this adventure you will learn about the plants and animals that call the Roosevelt Natural Area their home. Ages 6 and up. Takes place on Mondays and Fridays. Behind the Scenes: Otter Antics | 1pm – 2pm

Meet our otter keeper and help prepare special enrichment items that Eno, Neuse and Pungo will enjoy during their feeding. Jr. Ranger Day @ Fort Macon | 1pm – 4:30pm

Dolphin Tales @ Beaufort Historic Association | 7pm – 8pm

North Carolina Maritime Museum’s Natural Science Curator, Keith Rittmaster, will discuss his research on local dolphin identification at the Beaufort Historic Site’s Welcome Center. Roosevelt Natural Area Paddle Trip @ NC Aquarium at PKS | 9am – 11am

Explore tidal flats and quiet backwaters as you become aware of the intricate web of life thriving in this pristine natural environment. The Aquarium provides the canoe or kayak. Ages 8 and up. Meet a few of our avian ambassadors while learning what it takes to be a bird trainer. Visit the Aquarium “after hours” to learn about our sea turtle conservation efforts. Explore behind the scenes areas while getting up close and personal with our sea turtle ambassadors before you stroll the nighttime beach looking for sea turtle nests in the sand. Ages 5 and up. The Oblations are a two-man Blues/Funk/Rock band from the triangle area of North Carolina.
