June 3rd (Monday)

Flags of Fort Macon & the Confederacy | 10am – 11am

Behind the Scenes: Otter Antics | 1pm – 2pm

Meet our otter keeper and help prepare special enrichment items that Eno, Neuse and Pungo will enjoy during their feeding. New Moon Beach Cleanup | 6pm – 8pm

The oceans are such a beautiful and crucial part of our local environment- come clean up trash and enjoy the crash of the waves! Supplies are provided, all are welcome – this is a free, family friendly event. After the cleanup there will be a short new moon meditation, come for both- join us early to pickup or pop in later for the meditation-whatever works best for you! Event will take place at Radio Island Public Beach Access.

Kids Night Out @ The NC Aquarium at PKS | 6pm – 10pm

Jr. Ranger Day @ Fort Macon | 1pm – 4:30pm

Carteret County Parks & Rec – Beach Run Series | 5:15pm – 8pm

Mark your calendars for the Carteret County Parks and Recreation – Beach Run Series. Join in the fun with a run on the sand. Offering 1 Mile, 5K or 10K. Fun for the entire family. Take a stroll on the beach with a Park Ranger to see what we can find. We’ll be hunting for everything from drift beans to sea glass, and of course seashells. Sunscreen and water are recommended. Aquarist Apprentice @ NC Aquarium at PKS | 1:30pm – 4pm

Join Aquarium staff on a behind-the-scenes tour, help prepare animal meals and then participate in some daily care and maintenance tasks. Alive at Five Outdoor Concert – The Soul Psychedelic Orchestra | 5pm – 8pm

Kudubai @ Cru Wine Bar | 9pm – 12am

Kudubai are a five-piece band from Morehead City, NC. They have been performing in the area since 2010—playing a mix of original and eclectic cover tunes. The main thing to expect at a Kudubai show is variety, as all five members are multi-instrumentalists and singers. The music is a blend of rock styles and is often a little quirky, involving unique combinations of guitar, bass, Afro-Latin percussion, horns, banjo, accordion and more. While the membership of the band has fluctuated over the years, the two founding members are still strummin’ and pluckin’ away. 61st Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament | all day

The 2019 Big Rock Tournament will take place June 7-15, 2019 in Morehead City. Among the largest and oldest sport fishing tournaments in the country, The Big Rock calls avid deep-sea fishermen to North Carolina’s Crystal Coast for a full week of angling and community celebration. Over the course of the last half-century, many boats have docked here, many tourists have gathered here, and many Morehead City natives have come and gone. 22nd Annual Keli Wagner Lady Angler Tournament | 8am – 2pm

The KWLA Tournament, sponsored by Alexseal Yacht Coatings, is a one-day billfish release tournament with lines dropping in at 8 a.m. and fishing ends at 2 p.m. The lady angler reception held on Friday, June 7th is sponsored by Linda Rike Real Estate, and will serve as the official kick-off to the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament and its 61st Annual Event. The most anticipated aspect of the kickoff party is the Best Dressed Contest with fishing teams dressed head-to-toe in vibrant, colorful regalia. Olde Beaufort Farmers’ Market – Color Outside the Lines | 8:30am – 1pm

Youth Fishing Derby | 9am – 11am

Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation presents the 2019 Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 8th from 9:00-11:00am at the Bogue Inlet Pier. The event is FREE and open to kids ages 5-12. Great prizes will be awarded in categories ranging from the First Fish Caught to the Largest Fish Caught. Rods and reels will not be provided. Bait will be provided (while supplies last) or bring your own. Pre-registration is required (limited to 100 youth) and runs from May 6th – June 6th. Maritime Day @ Gallant’s Channel | 10am – 3pm

Enjoy an old-fashioned, family oriented picnic at our expansion site at Gallants Channel in Beaufort. Come and sail in the museum’s fleet of traditional wooden boats, cast a line with a cane pole, join in games or just relax and enjoy the live music and the spectacular waterway views. Tiffany Elaine is a recording Artist based out of Nashville and the Carolina’s. Elaine shows off her vocal range with her Debut single “Couldn’t You See” which was produced by Stokes Nielson of the Billboard acclaimed “The Lost Trailers. “The Lost Trailers issued a self-titled effort, which produced the singles “Call Me Crazy” and “Why Me”, both of which entered the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. Elaine has teamed up with local musicians and songwriters Steve Mehan and Fernando Rivera for a sound no one has heard before forming the band every one is talking about, Now Or Never.
